Civil Engineering

Civil Engineering encompasses all infrastructure on which our daily lives depend such as; roads, drainage, water, bridges, retaining structures, slope stability, dams, waste management, on either a domestic scale or through major public works. Our role is to assess the need for such works and devise appropriate engineering solutions.

Hartigan’s involvement, in both the private and public sectors, starts with the assessment of the existing situation, establishment of a project brief, examination of documentation, issuing recommendations for exploratory works and collecting appropriate data. This enables us to identify whether works are or will be needed and the form such works should take. We act independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.  We deliver detailed drawings, specifications and contract documentation allowing contractors to submit competitive prices. We manage the contracts ensuring the selected contractor carries out the works to very high standards and brings the project to a successful conclusion.  Hartigan’s approach allows good design and detail to be translated into accurate project cost, which can be monitored throughout the project.
