26 Beaulieu Park

This project involved the addition of a single-storey timber-framed extension in the client’s back garden, thoughtfully designed as a sun lounge.

The Outcome

The completed sunroom is a warm and inviting space that maximises natural light through the incorporation of a rooflight. The design makes efficient use of available space, creating a practical and aesthetically pleasing extension for the client.

How we did it

The extension was constructed on a strip foundation with a suspended concrete slab, ensuring durability and stability. To minimise the load on the foundation, a lightweight timber-framed wall and roof system were implemented, offering an efficient and sustainable structural solution.

The Challenge

The key challenge lay in constructing the new walls adjacent to the existing boundary party wall. The design not only safeguarded the stability of the party wall but also ensured the new structure met the client’s functional and aesthetic needs. This project exemplifies how thoughtful engineering and design can transform a small space into a bright and welcoming addition to a home.
