The Outcome
Our management of the full process — from assessment and insurance liaison to tendering and contract completion — provided the client with reassurance, transparency, and a strong foundation for the successful restoration of their home.
How we did it
Hartigan carried out the initial site inspection and condition survey, preparing detailed reports and schedules of condition to establish the full extent of the damage. Working closely with the loss adjuster, client, and insurers, our engineers provided technical evidence to support insurance claims and define the required repair strategy. Repair drawings, specifications, and a comprehensive Schedule of Works were produced to inform the tender process.
Hartigan coordinated the tendering procedure, issuing documentation to contractors, assessing returns, and liaising with all parties to review costs and technical proposals.
Once a preferred contractor was identified, Hartigan prepared and finalised the contract documentation, liaised with the client’s legal representatives and insurers, and ensured all necessary approvals were obtained for work to proceed. During the works we undertook regular site visits and processed contractor’s valuations.

The Challenge
A key challenge on this project was the urgency of the situation: the property was uninhabitable, and the reinstatement works needed to be completed promptly to enable the clients to return as soon as possible.
