The Outcome
The redevelopment of the former Les Charrieres Hotel site resulted in a modern residential care home with specialized retaining structures and improved site access. Efficient construction methods, including precast block and beam and timber frame, facilitated the process, while an adjustable pile layout addressed varying ground conditions. Sustainable practices were incorporated by using on-site reclaimed materials for landscaping, creating an inviting environment that harmonizes with the surrounding landscape.

How we did it
The redevelopment of the former Les Charrieres Hotel site began with a comprehensive site investigation, revealing mixed ground conditions. Hartigan collaborated with a landscape architect to design specialized retaining structures and improved access. Efficient construction methods, including precast block and beam and timber frame, were utilized, along with an adjustable pile layout for varying rock depths. The project also featured engineered retaining walls and drainage systems, incorporated room height adjustments, and used on-site reclaimed materials for landscaping, ensuring sustainability and timely delivery.

The Challenge
Site investigations revealed challenging ground conditions, including deep soft deposits and rock. Hartigan collaborated with a landscape architect to design specialized retaining structures and improved access. Efficient methods, such as precast block and beam and timber frame, were utilized, along with an adjustable pile layout. The project also included engineered retaining walls, drainage systems, room height adjustments, and on-site reclaimed materials for landscaping, ensuring sustainability and timely delivery despite the challenges.
