The Outcome
The marina was successfully upgraded, with 250 berths across seven piers and a new walkway for visiting yachts. The project was completed on time and on budget, ensuring the marina was ready for the 2022 Jersey Boat Show, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics.
How we did it
The design process included careful assessment of existing infrastructure, reusing foundations and structures where feasible, to reduce costs and environmental impact. We used innovative techniques like underwater concreting, repurposed materials, and minimised waste through recycling to ensure the new infrastructure met modern standards while staying within budget.
The Challenge
The challenge was to design the marina upgrade within cost constraints while improving functionality. This involved reusing existing structures, such as foundations, where they were still viable, and ensuring the new pontoons and guide piles could accommodate larger vessels. The design had to meet both modern standards and operational needs without compromising on cost efficiency.
